EMIR'S PALACE UNDER TIGHT SECURITY.
The palace of the emir of kano has continued to be under tight security on tuesday,as security men condoned off the area,to forestall breakdown of the law and order.
This came as the new Emir of Kano,Mallam Lamido Sanusi, received visitors who paid him homage at the Government House.
The
instruments comprise the Holy Qu’ran, the “twin spear” (Tagwayen Masu),
the sword, Emir Dabo’s hat and the ostrich plumage shoe.
The official turbanning ceremony
would take place at the emir’s palace at a date to be announced which was been confirmed by a source
He,
however, dispelled the rumour doing the rounds that the official
ceremony had taken place at the state house, saying this was far from
being true, because tradition did not allow for the turbanning to take
place outside the palace.
Among
dignitaries who had paid a visit to the new emir at the Government
House were the Adamawa State governor, Alhaji Murtala Nyako; his Imo
State counterpart, Rochas Okorocha; business magnate, Alhaji Aliko
Dangote; the Makama, Alhaji Abdullahi Sarki Ibrahim; Professor Isa
Hashim; Alhaji Muhammad Aliyu and the Deputy Secretary of the Emirate
Council, Alhaji Sarki Waziri.
